Pleural metastasis of pulmonary
adenocarcinoma
Case submitted by Véronique Hofman (LPCE, CHU de Nice, France)
A right pleural effusion was evidenced in a 73-year old man presenting with cough. Chest X-ray revealed a right hilar pulmonary nodule which revealed to be a TTF-1 positive, primitive
adenocarcinoma. The cytospin preparations obtained from the serous fluid showed cell balls and clusters of vacuolated, well differentiated carcinomatous cells.
